Fokker Triplane - Small
The Fokker Dr1 was the final mount of Manfred, Baron von Richtofen - the Red Baron - the top scoring German ace of WW1 and probably the most famous fighter pilot of all time. Its construction was relatively simple, and when coupled with a skilled pilot, it had the measure of many more powerful machines in a dogfight. It was powered by a single 9-cylinder rotary piston engine with a top speed of 115mph (185km/h), could attain a height of over 20,000feet but could only be airborne for 1hour 30mins.
There is exquisite detail to this desktop version of this legendary Red Baron icon - fine model with working compass in the cockpit. Fantastic!
